Bio:

Faylinn Ivanova, only child of Eladrin wizards Calliope and Pieter Ivanova, was orphaned at the age of 6, when her parents were killed battling a dragon that had been attacking a nearby village too small to protect itself. Upon their deaths, Faylinn was taken in by the famed, now elderly wizard Garimon, who had mentored both of her parents, as well as many respected wizards before her parents’ time. Seeing that Faylinn had inherited her parents’ magical proclivities, Garimon, in addition to adopting her as a daughter, also began training her in the arts of wizardry.

Faylinn took to magic remarkably well, showing both raw natural power and the stability of mind and heart necessary to control it. In addition to her advanced knowledge of the arcane, much of Faylinn’s mental and emotional strength can also be credited to Garimon, who truly cherished Faylinn as a daughter and raised her with love and wisdom. Because she had lost her parents when she was so young she hardly remembered them, and she had been so well taken care of since their passing, she did not experience the same degree of trauma that many orphaned children are plagued by throughout their lives. However, she was certainly not unaffected.

For Faylinn, the predominant impact of losing her parents was a sense of never really knowing who she was or what she was capable of, and never quite fitting in. As opposed to making her depressed or lonely, however, in Faylinn, these feelings translated into an adventurous restlessness that made her want to go out and SEE things. Thus, unlike most Eladrin, Faylinn developed a strong desire to explore realms beyond her own world. Additionally, as her parents had died fighting for others, Faylinn had developed a very protective streak for those weaker and more vulnerable than herself. After all, if helping those in need was not truly important, it would mean her parents had died in vain, and that was something she would never let herself believe. Garimon certainly thought the world of her parents, and one thing she had been smart enough to realize very early on was that Garimon was a very, very wise man.
